[Hapless Thomas Friedman finally has competition. His name is Bret Stephens, the WSJ’s ace foreign affairs columnist. In his column today (ostensibly) defending Trump’s candidate for Ambassador to Israel, Bret weaves in some advice about how to deal with those spoilsports, the pesky PLO. His punch line tells us all we need to know about Polite Right thinking at the moment: “Meanwhile, anyone genuinely concerned with the future of the Palestinians (sic) might urge them to elect better leaders, improve their institutions, and stop giving out sweets to celebrate the murder of their neighbors.”
Right, Bret. The candy is their incentive to kill Jews and destroy Israel. No Hershey Bars, no terror. And if that doesn’t do the trick, send “the Palestinians” to their room without any shawarma. df]

And for something more plausible, more effective, and more serious on roughly the same subject, read Caroline Glick’s latest column in the JPost.
