Dear Christian Friends: Please Get a Grip...................from Dan Friedman

[I used to like Michele Bachmann. While a Congresswoman she showed courage by calling for greater scrutiny of Islamists in our government. For that she earned the condemnation of other members of Congress, some in her own party. I suspect that was a key factor in her decision not to run for reelection. Moreover, Bachmann seems to be a pro-Israel stalwart, which always gains points on my fight card. But now she’s taken up the losing cause of too many American Christians: Convert the Jews to pave the way for the second coming of their savior and the “end of days.” As a Jewish partisan, and a Zionist, I find this insulting and unacceptable. A definite deal breaker. Christians needs to ask themselves a serious question: What kind of faith depends on winning over followers of another faith to justify its existence? df]

Muslims. Also the Christians have always believed that.

Oh? Because Jews don't proselytize or encourage conversion to Judaism, Christians mustn't?

Moronic.

And by the way, we don't seek to "justify our existence" to anyone. Certainly not to you, Mr. Friedman.

You ask: "What kind of faith depends on winning over followers of another faith to justify its existence?"

The answer is, a faith that is charitable to its fellow man. The Bible (90% of which specifically regards the nation Israel) demonstrates that those without Christ today (Jews, Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, etc) wind up in hell. A Christian does not want to see that happen. Therefore we encourage those not of our faith to see things in the Biblical way we see them.

I encourage you, as a Jew, to read very carefully and slowly Isaiah 53, knowing that the subject of this chapter died for such sinful human condition as described. Who does this chapter remind you of?

Christ died the death for sin you (we all) owe to God as all have sinned and fallen short of the glory God wanted for us. In love however, He took your place on the cross and paid your penalty. Believe (trust) and be saved.

Read very carefully and slowly the book of Romans written by a Jew (Saul) who missed the coming Kingdom like most Jews did when your Messiah walked among you.

Romans 5:8... "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."

While we were sinners, Christ died. He did not just die for His friends (Israel), He death was applied to all men everywhere and this information was revealed only to the Apostle Paul (Saul the Jew).

A Christian also knows that a man has the free will to either believe or not. God has reconciled the world unto Himself through Jesus Christ. It is up to each individual man to be reconciled back to God.

2 Cor 5:19-21... "To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God. For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him."

While my faith does not "depend" upon my "winning converts", it is my function in this world (and my honor) as Christ's ambassador.

I wish you grace and peace from God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ.

And, by the way, Michele Bachmann is very wrong in her theology. She does not understand the Bible rightly divided between Gods prophetic program by way of Israel, and His Mystery program by way of the church the Body of Christ. One deals with the earth (heavenly Jerusalem comes to earth where Israel will reign and judge nations) and the other deals with the heavens (where the Body goes to judge angels - 1 Cor 6:3); both of which are fallen and in need of drastic repair only God can supernaturally offer.
