If you missed last night’s GOP Presidential Primary debate on Fox Business News, you missed a very rare occurrence. The debate moderators, Neil Cavuto and Maria Bartiromo of FBN, and Gerald Seib of the Wall Street Journal, actually asked questions of the candidates that related to current issues and steadfastly avoided the kind of “gotcha” questions that became the norm during previous attempts at debates. In addition, the candidates were given sufficient time to give complete answers to the questions, and even to rebut their opponents. The big takeaway from this, however, is not how well Fox handled the debate, or even who won the debate. (continue reading)
