[Below, two recent opinion pieces that are strikingly alike. One from the editors of the Wall Street Journal, the other by Jonathan Tobin of Commentary. Tobin must have been looking over the Journal’s shoulder, or vice versa. Either way, what difference does it make? This isn’t a game of Pin the Tail on the Donkey, let alone who’s left holding the (political) bag now that the deal is done. That’s just more shallow conventional thinking, which is what got us here in the first place. We're on course for an international conflagration that won’t spare anyone, and the best the Polite Right can do is claim they now have the political advantage over the Democrats? Doesn't the senate have to vote 2/3 for approve a treaty? Didn't McConnell arrange for this to pass with an earlier vote?
