Washing Machine to Steal Computer Files?................from Rico

Good one!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh yeah, sure makes me wonder just how 'smart' it really is to be seduced by the convenience of 'smart' devices?
- Smart phones, smart thermostats, smart meters, smart TV's (that watch you and listen to you), and by extension 'smart' homes all have great potential convenience...if you don't wish to have ANY privacy.

Then there is Windows 10 (being given away for "free" (which should be a BIG clue) that by design extracts ALL the user data possible for someone else's use. Hey, if you agreed to the EULA no one reads. Ever.

- Talk about NO reasonable expectation of privacy......

The privacy laws have already been changed to 'assume' you consent to monitoring if you're using a smart phone (your use of the device IS the consent, so NO warrants are required anymore), thus it's not a stretch to think this will be applied to the use of ALL 'smart' devices in future.

Since few can live entirely inside a SCIF, I guess the only other workable option is to stay as "low tech" and as much "off the smart grid" as is possible............if you desire to keep some vestige of your Constitutional right to privacy, that is.

Then there are the Dutch Calvinists who don't believe in curtains on their windows because they 'have nothing to hide' anyway (only one of the features that makes Amsterdam different btw).

- "Well, if you're not doing anything 'wrong' what do you have to hide?" They would say.

- "Because it's NONE of your damned business what I do, or am doing!" I would retort.

"1984" was a cautionary tale, NOT a "how to" guide...........

How your washing machine can steal computer files
