Looks like.....................from Rico

I just read a news story about the Bangkok bombing. It was 'journalism today' in spades, a "lite" watered-down story not exactly full of facts, but it followed the script. For example, it said that bombings in Bangkok were rare, unlike in the South of Thailand which has had problems with separatist bombings in the past.
- This is true as far as it goes. In the South of Thailand, down towards Hat Yai (and the Malaysia border with Thailand) they have had 'problems' for a very long time. Problems with MUSLIM separatists, but it looks like the journalist didn't mention that. Malaysia is also a Muslim nation, but it looks like that was another minor detail that went (and usually goes) unmentioned.

It reminded me a lot of reportage from the Southern Philippines covering the Moro 'insurrection' there. Using the word insurrection makes it sound like an armed political spat but neglects to mention what it actually IS.
- Spain had a chronic 'problem' with the Moros until 1898 when America inherited them. The Moros are a problem for the government of the Philippines yet today. The Moros were, and are, Muslims, but it looks like journalists never mention that.

In most civilized Western countries today it looks like there is a concerted effort by the media and their masters to prevent the citizenry from connecting Muslim dots.
- Muslims do not get along with one another, and they rather make a point of NOT getting along with non-Muslims in particular....and, through history to the present, they take great pains to kill non-Muslims for the 'offense' of being non-Muslim.

But I digress.....now back to Bangkok.
- The photo attached looks like a view of the Erawan Shrine area. The building with the columns in the frame is a tourist shopping complex. The road would be Sukhumvit. Just off screen to the right is a Thai military or police hospital, and to the left-rear off-frame of the photographer is the Le Meridien President hotel, but you'd never know any of that from the media coverage so far.
- Just like you might not know that the Erawan Shrine is Hindu, but is revered by Buddhists too. It's not just a tourist spot in-and-of itself.

This is what makes me 'guess' that Muslims were involved in this bombing, but it looks like no one else will say that publicly.
- It was certainly NOT a group of marauding Methodists, Lutherans, or Catholics.
