It would seem that Fox News has backed down in their fight with Donald Trump. Breitbart is reporting that Roger Ailes called Trump to offer a cease-fire and assure the Donald that he would be treated fairly in the future. Fox, or at least Ailes, has apparently learned the same lesson a lot of other people have recently had to learn, as Ted Cruz recently explained in an interview with Politico, “I would … note that an awful lot of Republicans, including other Republican candidates, have gone out of their way to smack Donald Trump with a stick. Now I think that’s just foolish.”
Personally, I think Ailes finally caught on to the fact that his network was hurt more by the attack on Trump than anyone, and frankly television news networks cannot afford to lose viewers for any reason. Roger Ailes and his other ‘Big News’ counterparts are about to learn some hard truth, and none of them are going to like it. (continue reading)
