What inflation?...................from Rico
"What inflation?" the teleprompter readers disingenuously say.
- And the Fedzilla lies about it, while the Government swears to it.
Here is a look at the inflation we don't have, and nobody seems to see.
In 1945 there were $39 paper dollars (then redeemable Treasury Silver Certificates) for every ounce of US Treasury Gold held. Today there are about $5,226 paper dollars (unredeemable Federal Reserve Notes) for every ounce of US Treasury Gold that the Goverment 'claims' to hold.
- I say 'claims' because there has never been a real audit of Treasury Gold or the FED in my lifetime, and I do not expect there ever will be one. Besides, would they LIE?
If you had a $100 dollar note and 100 Silver Dollars (remember them?) in 1965, and you had put them under your mattress never to spend them, then:
- That $100 note would buy you roughly 30-35 gallons of gasoline today.
- Those 100 Silver Dollars would buy you a decent $1600 used car today.
This is the inflation we don't have.
- Nope, no inflation to see here. Now move along...
