Divide Between USA Jews & Israel Grows................from Dan Friedman

[Outside of the Spies in the Torah, American Reform Jewry is the original Jewish anti-Zionists. They fought tooth and nail against the establishment of Israel back in the 1940s - and like the opportunists they are, only supported Israel after it was a fait accompli. This is their MO for all things Jewish and how they’ve recovered from their many blunders. One example: They were wrong about the death of Hebrew, so now for Reform Jews Hebrew is common. The list goes on. Better to keep your hand in rather than lose all influence by staying out.

The World Zionist Congress elects the officers and decides on the policies of the WZO and the Jewish Agency. In the recent WZC elections, the slate from ARZA (which represents American Reform Jewry) won more than 1/3 of the seats (56 out of 145). These are echoes of the Reform’s gradual takeover of America’s major Jewish organizations, many of whom now openly collaborate with Israel’s Left and the BDS movement. Sad to say, I fear it’s going to be deja vue all over again, because I believe the Jewish patriots in America don’t have the numbers, aggressiveness, wherewithal or strategy to beat back the Reform’s assault on American Zionism. And this brings me back to my leitmotif: the chasm between the USA liberal-left and the Jewish state is widening just as Israel is getting stronger, more independent and more authentically Jewish. This may be cause sadness among some, but I for one find it encouraging. As history unfolds, we will find that the ersatz Judaism and the pretend Zionism of America’s unJews and Erev rav will never take root in Eretz Yisrael.
