[Here’s Woman of Valor, Caroline Glick’s commentary today in the Jerusalem Post. A few thoughts. I think it is far less dramatic than the headline, and she compounds a major mistake: relying on liberal/left USA Jews to come around to Israel’s side in a pinch. That’s a completely fanciful notion which ignores the reality of the steady leftward drift of the USA’s Jewish community (which has only grown more pronounced since Obama was elected) while downplaying the Jews’ sorely craven communal response to his anti-Israel policies.
The obvious example: We are still fighting an uphill battle with the Jewish “leadership” to exclude openly anti-Israel, anti-Semitic groups from being invited to march in NYC’s Israel Day Parade, for heavens sake! Finally, heightening the contradictions between unJews and true Zionists may make us uneasy, and on the surface contradict some of Judaism’s teaching. But so do the traitorous actions of the Jewish Left. My view in life and politics is that in the end it’s better to face bitter reality - assuming the Jewish Nation wants to grow stronger and prosper.
Sadly, the “decision” Ms. Glick speaks of was rendered long ago. df]
