Multiple sources in Iraq have reported that ISIS fighters in
Mosul have contracted the Ebola virus, although the reports have not been
officially confirmed. Mosul has been under the control of the Islamic State
since June of last year. While some believe it is unlikely that the reported
cases are actually Ebola, ISIS fighters have arrived in the area from a variety
of countries, some of which are in Africa and are actively fighting the Ebola
outbreak. The World Health Organization has reached out to offer assistance in
containing any Ebola cases that might exist but have not as yet had access to
the hospital in Mosul. (continue reading)
