As bombs continue to fall on targets in Syria, President Obama appears to be tap dancing across a tightrope over a moat full of alligators. On one hand he has persuaded several Arab countries to take part in the airstrikes, but with that co-operation comes an expectation that the U.S. will at some point help them oust President Bashar al-Assad, something the Obama administration has so far been unwilling to do. The rebel forces being armed and assisted by the Obama administration have similar expectations, and they also have expressed reservations about the choice of targets. President al-Assad on the other hand, is pleased to see the Obama administration assisting his forces in the fight against the rebels.
