The Oakville Assembly plant now sends zero waste to landfill, an achievement that gives Ford Motor Company the distinction of becoming landfill free at all its manufacturing facilities in Canada. Oakville Assembly is the first Ford assembly plant in North America to achieve this environmental designation

And you can bet your Ford car will cost more because of it. Landfills are not a significant environmental problem. Not like, say, roasting or smashing wild birds with solar power or windmill facilities.
And you can also bet it's a lie.
There is no organism in nature that can live without generating waste.
Ford is disguising the waste, or downloading it onto suppliers more likely. Are the packing materials that the parts come in Ford landfill if the supplier is forced to take the material back and discard it?
what Mr. Bee said, because that's what popped into my head when i saw the headline...
this is kabuki theater, designed to appeal to the ignorant and the willfully stupid.
i'm still not going to buy anything made with UAW labor, no matter how "green"...
and most "green" policies are boneheaded anyway.
