In a
statement issued Monday, Judicial
Watch revealed that DOJ attorneys had confirmed that the supposedly missing
Lois Lerner e-mails still exist on a government wide backup system. An
article in the New York Observer published the same day reported that the IRS
had destroyed Lois Lerner’s Blackberry, said to have contained copies of the
same e-mails, after the congressional
inquiry was well underway and IRS officials were fully aware that the data
contained on the Blackberry was the subject of that inquiry. There is a lot
that we do not yet know about this scandal, but one thing we do know is that
there is an agency wide, and in fact an administration wide effort underway to
destroy pertinent evidence and block the ongoing investigations. (continue reading)
