Dr. Ben Carson, renowned
neurosurgeon, author and speaker, has often been in the news since his speech at
the National Prayer Breakfast. His move on Friday to form his own Political
Action Committee called One Nation has intensified speculation that he will run
for President in the GOP primary.
In February of last year I
wrote What
a Breath of Fresh Air praising his approach to solving the problems facing
our nation. Since that time Dr. Carson released a new book, One
Nation, and has continued to speak and offer his views on the current state
of our nation. His calm, measured
approach to discussing the issues paired with his unwillingness to bow to political
correctness has earned him a great deal of respect from both sides. The ideas
he has expressed have proven him to be a man with the intelligence and vision
necessary to tackle the problems that our next President might face, and I
believe he possesses the leadership skills necessary to lead the country,
something that is now in short supply.
Despite all of this,
reluctantly I cannot support Dr. Carson in the quest for the GOP nomination.

his brain dead approach to the 2nd Amendment is a deal breaker for me. i'm done voting for the lesser of two evils, and anyone who wants me left defenseless is just evil.
Agree. He isn't in any position to run America. Just because he espouses conservative principles, doesn't mean he's equipped to run a country. People get excited about him because he's black and not Obama. You'd think the country would've learned by now it not about skin color, but about competence!
