[Although the possibility is remote in the first instance, imagine if Israel had signed a “peace treaty” with Abbas and sometime later Abbas announced a unity government with Hamas. That scenario is sheer speculation, but here’s one that is clearly within the realm of possibility: Netanyahu & Co. have now been given just cause to push away from the Oslo table and defang the PLO on their way out the door. Let’s see whether Bibi grabs the gold ring and gets off the deadly “peace” merry-go-round, or whether he lets this historic opportunity slip through his fingers. (I think you know where I stand) df]
