[A number of
level-headed Israelis tell me they are certain that Bibi is not the man we see
on the surface. In fact, they say, behind the glowing rhetoric he is a willing
enabler of the “international community’s” efforts to give the Arabs a state in
the heart of Israel. These Israelis also predict that Netanyahu will be a
no-show when it comes to taking decisive action against Iran. (Containing Iran
would be a boon for Israel’s military-industrial complex, n’est-ce pas?)
Unfortunately, Netanyahu’s track record – nine years as PM and counting -
inspires little comfort, except to his apologists who blame Netanyahu’s many
blunders on that old standby...wait for it... “American pressure.” df]
