In 1926 Hemingway wrote his novel "The Sun Also Rises" which was set in a time of moral bankruptcy.
- It contained the lines: "How did you go bankrupt?" "Slowly at first, and then all at once."
In 2014, the culmination of the Fed's financial experiment could be called "The Dollar Also Sets" and is set in a time of moral and financial bankruptcy.
- So far there are no memorable lines from Yellanke of the Fed, but it's early in the last chapter so there may still be something worth remembering.
Until there is, Hemingway's lines are as good or better than any for historical purposes.
