Up in smoke - Car-B-Q..................from Rico

First it was the 'progressive' ecotard fantasy of a car running on electricity instead of that eeeevil oil, aka the Chevy VOLT from Government Motors.

- Expensive to make, but heavy taxpayer subsidies softened the blow for would be buyers (although GM still lost money on each unit made).

- So few wanted to 'buy' one, that the production line was idled [read: shut down] for a period due to this low demand.

- It probably did NOT help that the car tended to self-immolate and also burn your house down while charging overnight in the garage.

Now we have the much pricier TESLA electric car setting itself on fire.

Wow...great way to reduce that "carbon footprint" you Global-Warming Eco-nazis!

Myself, I think I'll skip the whole Car-B-Q thing and look for something a lot more reliable, like a 1957 Plymouth with a huge motor and plenty of legroom for all 20 passengers.

Meh - it crashed and had something pierce one of the batteries. I've seen gas based cars do the same (look for cops being rear-ended and side impact on trucks).

At least Tesla is made in the USA.

To be fair, while Volts and Karmas are burning in garages and warehouses all over the country, this is the first time I've ever heard of a Tesla burning up. They specifically designed the battery pack to resist fires, but it would seem they missed something, probably something way down on the list of possible fire causes.
