[It was less than two years ago that PM Netanyahu turned down an invitation to write an Op-Ed for the New York Times, giving as his reasons the paper's "consistent distortions of the positions of our government" and its "cavalier defamation of our country." Bibi should have left well enough alone, but last week he succumbed to the siren's song and agreed to a Times interview. The paper's treatment of the story is exactly what Netanyahu predicted it would be: "cavalier defamation" of Israel and "distortions of the positions of [his] government” with a few disdainful personal slurs thrown in for good measure. I don't know where Netanyahu is getting his media advice from today, but he should go back and hire the same guy he heeded in 2011. Some things will never change. And the NYT’s congenital Jew-hatred-cum-anti-Zionism is one of them. In fact, as Israel’s prosperity, power and independence increase, the Times’s hysterical Israel-bashing will only get worse . df]

Ten days after attacking Netanyahu in front page op-ed, Times calls him 'shrill', 'frozen in the past.'
