Boston Water Supply Tampering Update: Four locks leading to Hultman Aqueduct cut!...from TPC

Approximately one month after seven Middle Easterners were caught trespassing at the Quabbin Reservoir that serves Boston's water needs, locks were found cut at the Hultman Aqueduct.

This facility feeds one of the two lines carrying drinking water to the city. Coincidence, terrorist practice-run or something else?

And is the Obama administration even watching?

  1. The Massachusetts Water Resources Authority supplies eastern Massachusetts with about 200 million gallons of water per day. In order to poison that supply, terrorists would to seize and hold the reservoirs in secret for the length of time it takes for the water in the distribution and local storage facilities to be replaced. This would take many days.

Furthermore, if the poison were effective at a concentration of 1 milligram per liter, the terrorists would have to supply the poison at the rate of 1,670 pounds per day for the entire time.

Poisoning large reservoirs is the equivalent of a full-blown military invasion and conquest and is to all intents and purposes impossible.

  2. Poison dilutes...
But germs and radioactive material will becomes widespread, though unlikely to kill it will trip the alarms and then fear does the real work.

  3. John is correct. just the utterance by some newsweasel that "they tried to poison the water with (insert substance here)" n a hot july day and you'd kill a few hundred with dehydration alone. panic buying of bottled water, plus those trying to get out of town, will probably kill more. and this will be long before any substances have actually reached the end users.
