"Its not how many push ups you can do, or how well you can do them. It's the fact that you are there." - Joey Jones
SSgt. Johnny "Joey" Jones (USMC Ret.) is the face of Pushups for Charity 2013. This "Georgia boy" spent eight years serving his country as an EOD tech in the U.S. Marine Corps. As a member of America's elite warrior class, Jones held arguably one of the most dangerous jobs in the military-- his days and nights filled with the disarmament and disposal of Improvised Explosive Devices (IED's). August 2010 was a story-changer for Jones. During his deployment in Afghanistan, Jones was severely injured and lost both of his legs above the knee.
This man embodies the warrior spirit. He has not allowed this life-changing injury to derail him; rather, he is focusing his energy on advocacy for active duty and veteran wounded military personnel.
Jones serves proudly as a Hero Ambassador for the Boot Campaign. He is actively involved in assisting the Boot Campaign in its vision of cultivating awareness, promoting patriotism, and providing assistance. Jones travels the country speaking at Boot Campaign events - in fact; he attended Pushups for Charity 2012 in Coppell, TX - and serves on the Boot Campaign's committee for the Military Recovery Fund.
YOU can make a life - changing impact by devoting 90 seconds to Pushups for Charity.
