Last Jew Standing.....................from Dan Friedman

[I rarely send out NYT material but when someone sent me this column by David Brooks, I thought I’d make an exception. Brooks, you’ll recall, is the NYT’s nominal conservative and horn-rimmed Jew. What makes Brooks’ column interesting is that the “Orthodox Surge” he describes taking place in Brooklyn is mirrored in many diaspora communities, and in Israel as well. Normative Judaism’s rise will turn out to be a Jewish game changer. It will be the antidote for the theological/political misinformation spread by the assimilationist Reform and Conservative sects, both of which have been in decline. Am Yisrael Chai! df]
