(Rubin does a good job following the trail of contradictions Obama has forged in only the first 36 hours of his trip to Israel. But I think when Rubin concludes by asking, “So why should Obama bother to pressure Israel in trying to push ahead?”, it means Rubin’s shying away from the obvious answer: Obama is still the same Islamophile on exhibit in Cairo in 2009. He instinctively favors the Muslims in their struggle to eliminate Israel, and he has no desire to break the habit. df]
