I have no problem with loving my enemies; it's the sin I hate, not the sinner. More to the point, here, is everyone has a right and a responsibility to self-defense. That's a basic, God-given right. The Second Amendment isn't in place in the Bill of Rights so we can go hunting, even if it was a part of the thinking of the authors of it. To Anonymous 04:34: Actually, gun control IS an infringement on our rights. The framers of the Bill of Rights intended the Second Amendment would insure that citizens would have weapons of war in order to protect the First Amendment (and the rest of them) from a tyranical government.

I like your comparisons Wild Bill. I grew up back when there were no, or at least very few, gun/firearm regulations and no such thing as gun registration. We didn't have computers or computer games, our movies were not violent and our television programs were not violent. You never heard of school shootings and the police and our elders were to be respected. During the hunting seasons we carried our deer rifles and shoguns in our gun racks in our pickup trucks right on to school ground and we never locked our doors because no one would think of stealing anything and it wasn't against school policy and we wouldn't be arrested for it. It is said that our life and other things have changed for the better, but I have really hard time believing it or even seeing it. More power to the president and congress, more police on our streets and more gun/firearm regulations? Where has it gotten us so far???

I personally believe gun safety and reduced gun violence will come with education and practical shooting skills derived from taking a CCW course in conjunction with participating in IPSC, Bianchi Cup, Bulls-eye, Bench-rest and three gun competition.
Taking these classes should be required of all students before they can obtain a high school diploma. Failure to pass these courses with at least a "B" will render the individual ineligible for government aid or subsistence of any kind and automatically disqualify them for Social Security or Medicare, unless treatment is paid for out of the individual’s pocket.

I certainly agree with everything said here, but I have to point out that there are a LOT of Republicans who are not much better. We can thank Bush for the "Patriot Act" and the TSA, for a couple of examples. A lot of what the Obama administration has done in the last few years was started by the Bush Administration. I'm not playing the "blame bush"card here on everything, as Obama would like us all to do, especially not where the economy is concerned, but I am definitely saying that we don't have a lot of real representation these days from either major party! That is something to keep in mind when voting. Our 2 party system has given us the choice between a power hungry crook and a power hungry lunatic in most cases.

Why is there so much debate about gun control? In the old west everyone carried a gun for protection and the bad guys were always sent to "Boot Hill" because people were allowed to protect themselves. Did they require gun permits then? Today if someone commits a crime they're sent to the "Big Hotel" where we, the good citizens, must pay for their A/C, free meals, TV, free medical and dental, exercise facilities, eduction, laundry service and things most of us don't have. I've heard that it cost us taxpayers annually in the neighborhood of $40,000 for each inmate. If they're rich enough they hire a high priced lawyer who set these killers free to kill again. Suppose every school taught gun classes where students would learn how to properly handle a gun and understand that you, and not the gun, are responsible for the death of an individual. Allow teachers to keep a gun on their desk to protect their students. Every home should be allowed to have a pistol or rifle in every room for self protection. What really amazes me is that the majority of Nut Cases that have committed the recent shootings have been from Liberal Progressive Families. I'll bet you that you will never see this in most of the Lame Stream Media,no such thing as real investigative reporting only Parroting what they read and are told.
The 2nd Amendment is very clear and very simple. "...the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed." The words "keep and bear" mean "own and carry". The colonists had just won their freedom from the unjust British Government using single shot muzzle loading weapons. But the British soldiers (the armed forces at the command of the unjust British Government) were using the same kind of weapons. The weapons technology was the same on both sides of the battlefield. By the same token, American citizens must be allowed to own and carry weapons equal to those carried by US Government military forces. Every gun law that reduces that equality is an infringement on our right to keep and bear arms. Remember that the colonists were under the British Crown until they revolted, as we are under the US Government until it becomes necessary for us to revolt aganist unjust laws, taxes, and oppression. The 2nd Amendment was not written for hunting. It was not written even for protection of self, family, and property. These are byproducts of the fundamental right, which is to prevent government from enslaving the people. "Absolute power corrupts absolutely" is an inescapable truth. The people's ability to remove a corrupt government and return to a free state is the only thing that will keep us from having to do it.
During World War II, Russia warned Japan NOT to invade the USA because, "behind every blade of grass is an armed American". We need to keep the same fear in anyone else who may consider invading this country. Switzerland is a perfect example. They are required to serve in the military and when they return home they are required to take their guns with them. My Dad said "CYA" is the first rule to protect yourself in all things. Our Framers must be rolling over in their graves to see what is happening in this country. A Strong and Free America is an Armed America!
This is nonsense (like most of the posts here, but I just wanted to point out) During World War II Russia and Japan were not on speaking terms. The only thing that kept the Russians from avenging their history of hurt from Japan was that they had their hands busy in Europe. Once Hitler was defeated the Russians promptly declared war on Japan. The Russians took North Korea and Sakhalin Island back from the Japanese just before the war ended that August 1945.

I'm guessing that Liberals with Guns read that on some Web site of dubious validity. More reliable sources generally indicate that whatever your age, you now have only one choice. That choice is between a democratic, peace-loving regime that, you hope, may do something good for others and, as the alternative, the loud and soulless dirigisme currently being forced upon us by Liberals with Guns. Choose carefully because Liberals with Guns maintains a "Big Brother" dossier of personal information about everyone it distrusts to use as a potential weapon. Is your name listed in that dossier? The best answer comes from Liberals with Guns itself. That is, if you pay attention to its satanic convictions you'll clearly notice that the justification Liberals with Guns gave for developing a Pavlovian reflex in us, to make us afraid to put its deranged treacheries out to pasture was one of the most logorrheic justifications I've ever heard. As it stands, Liberals with Guns's reason is not true reason. It does not seek the truth but only mephitic answers, scornful resolutions to conflicts. As I have tried to show in this letter, "Liberals with Guns" has become a byword for treachery and deceit. As long as you remember that, we may yet be able to create greater public understanding of the damage caused by Liberals with Guns's hypnopompic insights.

I like your comparisons Wild Bill. I grew up back when there were no, or at least very few, gun/firearm regulations and no such thing as gun registration. We didn't have computers or computer games, our movies were not violent and our television programs were not violent. You never heard of school shootings and the police and our elders were to be respected. During the hunting seasons we carried our deer rifles and shoguns in our gun racks in our pickup trucks right on to school ground and we never locked our doors because no one would think of stealing anything and it wasn't against school policy and we wouldn't be arrested for it. It is said that our life and other things have changed for the better, but I have really hard time believing it or even seeing it. More power to the president and congress, more police on our streets and more gun/firearm regulations? Where has it gotten us so far???

In order for GOD to Bless America AGAIN, America needs to BLESS GOD. Citizens ask, "Where was GOD when precious children died and dedicated adults lost their lives?" He WAS there, but HE has given us the ability to choose and many Americans have chosen to reject God's love snd compassion. Perhaps for that reason HE is allowing those attitudes of rejection to play out in our society until America falls on her knees and invites GOD back into our hearts, schools, homes, instititions of government, media, etc!!!

ReplyDeleteI personally believe gun safety and reduced gun violence will come with education and practical shooting skills derived from taking a CCW course in conjunction with participating in IPSC, Bianchi Cup, Bulls-eye, Bench-rest and three gun competition.
Taking these classes should be required of all students before they can obtain a high school diploma. Failure to pass these courses with at least a "B" will render the individual ineligible for government aid or subsistence of any kind and automatically disqualify them for Social Security or Medicare, unless treatment is paid for out of the individual’s pocket.
It is time to stop turning our children into a society of sissy's, who not only don't know how to use a gun; but actually fear the sight of one due to negative media propaganda, where they’re told that anyone who owns a gun is an evil outlaw, unless they’re law enforcement or military.
The solution to gun violence will only come from a well- trained , well-armed and respectful society, who can think for themselves; not one that is disarmed , kowtowed or servitude.

We can thank Bush for the "Patriot Act" and the TSA, for a couple of examples. A lot of what the Obama administration has done in the last few years was started by the Bush Administration. I'm not playing the "blame bush"card here on everything, as Obama would like us all to do, especially not where the economy is concerned, but I am definitely saying that we don't have a lot of real representation these days from either major party! In the old west everyone carried a gun for protection and the bad guys were always sent to "Boot Hill" because people were allowed to protect themselves. Did they require gun permits then? Today if someone commits a crime they're sent to the "Big Hotel" where we, the good citizens, must pay for their A/C, free meals, TV, free medical and dental, exercise facilities, eduction, laundry service and things most of us don't have. I've heard that it cost us taxpayers annually in the neighborhood of $40,000 for each inmate. If they're rich enough they hire a high priced lawyer who set these killers free to kill again. Suppose every school taught gun classes where students would learn how to properly handle a gun and understand that you, and not the gun, are responsible for the death of an individual. Allow teachers to keep a gun on their desk to protect their students. Every home should be allowed to have a pistol or rifle in every room for self protection. PRETTY SOON ALL THIS POLITICALLY ADVERTISED MOTIVATED CRIME WOULD END! Threaten someone with a bullet and get one or several yourself......

The colonists had just won their freedom from the unjust British Government using single shot muzzle loading weapons. But the British soldiers (the armed forces at the command of the unjust British Government) were using the same kind of weapons. The weapons technology was the same on both sides of the battlefield. By the same token, American citizens must be allowed to own and carry weapons equal to those carried by US Government military forces. Every gun law that reduces that equality is an infringement on our right to keep and bear arms. Remember that the colonists were under the British Crown until they revolted, as we are under the US Government until it becomes necessary for us to revolt aganist unjust laws, taxes, and oppression. The 2nd Amendment was not written for hunting. It was not written even for protection of self, family, and property. These are byproducts of the fundamental right, which is to prevent government from enslaving the people. "Absolute power corrupts absolutely" is an inescapable truth. The people's ability to remove a corrupt government and return to a free state is the only thing that will keep us from having to do it.

The only thing that kept the Russians from avenging their history of hurt from Japan was that they had their hands busy in Europe. Once Hitler was defeated the Russians promptly declared war on Japan. The Russians took North Korea and Sakhalin Island back from the Japanese just before the war ended that August 1945.

ReplyDeleteI love Bill and don't disagree with any of what he said here. I do fell it is very important as conservatives to have our facts straight and fully checked before making statements. Only liberals can get away with spewing information that is not factual because they have the media backing them and never get called out on their lies. We MUST be accurate at all times and there is no shortage of factual liberal and media bias.

Virginia does not have party registration in its voter registration process. In other words, citizens do not designate a political party affiliation when registering to vote in Virginia. But both claims are just assumptions. Strong, crippling feelings of fear, uncertainty, doubt and disbelief as well as an irrational world viewpoint are common, especially among prisoners.

Its statement that the most valuable skill one can have is the ability to lie convincingly is no exception. What's more, it keeps telling everyone within earshot that its antics can give us deeper insights into the nature of reality. I'm guessing that Liberals with Guns read that on some Web site of dubious validity. More reliable sources generally indicate that whatever your age, you now have only one choice. That choice is between a democratic, peace-loving regime that, you hope, may do something good for others and, as the alternative, the loud and soulless dirigisme currently being forced upon us by Liberals with Guns. Choose carefully because Liberals with Guns maintains a "Big Brother" dossier of personal information about everyone it distrusts to use as a potential weapon. Is your name listed in that dossier? The best answer comes from Liberals with Guns itself. That is, if you pay attention to its satanic convictions you'll clearly notice that the justification Liberals with Guns gave for developing a Pavlovian reflex in us, to make us afraid to put its deranged treacheries out to pasture was one of the most logorrheic justifications I've ever heard. It was so logorrheic, in fact, that I will not repeat it here. Even without hearing the details you can still see my point quite clearly: It is easy to see faults in others. But it takes perseverance to challenge the present and enrich the future.
One of the bewildering paradoxes of our time is the extent to which Liberals with Guns is willing to make things worse, especially given that it itself would be affected by such actions. I have some advice for Liberals with Guns. It should keep its mouth shut until it stops being such a brutal quidnunc and starts being at least one of informative, agreeable, creative, or entertaining. We cannot afford to waste our time, resources, and energy by dwelling upon inequities of the past. Instead, we must condemn Liberals with Guns's criminal ineptitude. Doing so would be significantly easier if more people were to understand that Liberals with Guns is doing some pretty stuck-up things. Or, to restate that without meiosis, it will stop at nothing to ransack people's homes. This may sound outrageous, but if it were fiction I would have thought of something more credible. As it stands, Liberals with Guns's reason is not true reason. It does not seek the truth but only mephitic answers, scornful resolutions to conflicts. As I have tried to show in this letter, "Liberals with Guns" has become a byword for treachery and deceit. As long as you remember that, we may yet be able to create greater public understanding of the damage caused by Liberals with Guns's hypnopompic insights.
