In a Nutshell: Israel's Elections..................by Dan Friedman

Remember Kadima? Bibi has pulled a Sharon. His maneuvering was an effort to neutralize the nationalists to his right. But this didn't sit well with many in the Likud, or Likud voters, who still adhere to first principles Netanyahu abandoned a long time ago. An ebbing tide lowers all boats. The people I speak to there still don't know where Lapid stands on Yesha and national security issues. And they also tell me trust in Netanyahu is eroding fast. Bottom line, BB's manipulations have produced a stalemate, and it's quite likely Israel is headed for another round of elections sooner rather later. Oh, I think I forgot to mention Iran.
