Now that the last streamer from Inauguration Day 2013 has been thrown, it is now time for Barack Obama to do what he failed to do in his first term which is to focus on national security.
That means instead of empty rhetoric and following the lead of the UN Security Council the President needs to follow his own 2008 advice which was 'If they bring a knife to the fight, we bring a gun.'
