No, 'boxing day' has nothing to do with pugilism or fisticuffs...much as English as a second language has little to do with that magical place also known as Japan (Nippon).
This just in from a dear friend in Osaka.
My fellow 'gaijin' and 'old Japan hands' will appreciate it I think...this is special, even for them!
