A compass.....................from Rico

After many years of PRP (personal reliability profiling) and various other 'head-shrinking' done on those of us who were "Company Men" I now carefully avoid these types of 'profiling' tests in my retirement.
- I mean, what's the point now? Besides, I think I have a pretty good handle on who I am and what I think by now...well, I thought I did.

There was something intriguing about the thesis that Left-Right axis was not really good enough to delineate political persuasion, but that another axis (authoritarian-libertarian) in combination with the former would provide a 3D picture by using both axes in tandem. The thesis is more sophisticated than any I ever heard at University, and I haven't really run across anything quite like this since.
- First I 'looked' just to 'see' the questions. I was curious, I'll admit.
- Looking 'hooked' me, and I took the test.

I was not surprised to land near Milton Friedman, nor was it surprising to be pretty far away from Bobby Mugabe (ptah! ptoeey!) although it was admittedly a big relief!
- If your interest is piqued, you can find this 'political compass' test at the Silver Bear Cafe blog:

President Obama should be in the top left red orange section.

The "left-right" "axis" is a fraud. It isn't an axis at all since there's no continum being measured, just a delineation of different statist implementations. There's freedom and there's authoritarianism. It doesn't matter a twit if you're being rousted by the KGB or the Gestapo, you end up just as dead or your life is just as destroyed.

Virtually every person is misplotted, often by a hugh margin. The author of the plots is seriously delusional.
