Humble? Royal?..................from Rico

Author Robert Gray has an interesting perspective coming out in his new book.

While the taxpayers of the UK support their Royals to the tune of $57.8 million per year, while not a 'royalist' it seems a fair quid pro quo (or as my Aussie pals would say "fair dinkum") at the end of the day. Both ways.

On quite the other....er, hand we have the 'royals-in-their-own-minds' Barry and Moochelle (a well-earned sobriquet, that latter one) setting records for living like royalty in a nation that once took some pride in having no royalty beyond individual merit.
- How did that TV guy say it? Caviar lifestyle and champagne tastes? NO snouts have EVER been buried so deeply in the public trough!

Proving that the very American expression "we're #1" also applies to the American taxpayer [read: "we're #1 suckers"] the shabby, classless, smug and VERY ghetto-style couple ref infra is supported to the tune of $1.4 billion dollars per year!
- A very bad bargain indeed, for what little they have on offer. The corner crack dealer presents a much better value for the money spent.

The Churchillian quote about being 'humble, with much to be humble about' doesn't begin to describe this pathetic situation.

The royal family may cost the British taxpayer about £40 Million a year but at the same time the British Government receives over £200 million rents from Royally owned land, £160 Million up seems good value to me.

P.S. I am not a Royalist just a realist.
