Living in the New York metropolitan area I have the distinct pleasure of
driving on two of the worst roads in the country, the Cross Bronx Expressway
and the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway...
OUCH, The Cross-Bronx Expressway. I haven't had the "displeasure" of driving that canker roadway in 45+ years, but believe me even back then it looked like the 8th Air Force had carpet bombed it for a year.
Yes the NYC government has a lot to answer for when it comes to the infrastructure. Interestingly enough the roads in the well kept suburbs where the "upper-class" New Yorkers dwell are as smooth as a baby's behind.
