Someone said in the poll comments (on the poll site) that they didn't mind what you did, as long as the Spitfire was still around.
Have you ever looked at your site using a standard 1024-wide monitor? You can't even SEE the Spitfire, outside of one wing tip. About a fifth of the screen is beyond the monitor's margin. I'd say FIXING the site is more important than updating it.
As for the "Last of the Few" line, few what? People? Good staunch Brits? Whatever it is you're the "last of", it's sounds like an empty claim. I'd dump the whole line. I've always thought it sounded presumptuous.
I like 'The Daily Spark', though. Nice play on words, and true from the sense that many of your links and articles can 'spark' interest in the subject. I'd definitely go with it.

Put the "News with Views" in the red ribbon and leave the " Last or the Few" as is and you have the best of both.
You have to keep the old tagline or the Spitfire and St. George’s Cross don’t make sense.
As you know, Theo, I am a Battle of Britain buff (obsessive, some say), so the retained Spitfire always says the tag line.
"News with Views" is clean, crisp.
