TAX THE RICH! IT'S ONLY FAIR!

This resonates very well with people, and politicians know this...that is why they lie through their teeth and say complete nonsense like "tax the rich" and the rich aren't paying their "fair share" of taxes.

Nobody 'likes' paying taxes. OK. Understood.

Many of us that DO pay taxes, think we pay too much now, making yet higher taxes very unpopular.
- But, there are a LOT of people who pay NO taxes, yet get the benefit of tax-dollars taken from someone else who does pay taxes. Take a good look at the bottom two income quintiles (that's 40% for recent government-run school graduates and/or Obama supporters). This is what is called (a) something for nothing, (b) a free lunch, (c) wealth re-distribution, (d) "fair", or (e) all of the above.

If you are in the top 20% income-wise and are paying 94% of the taxes, you already know this is a very shitty deal.
- The only thing Barry & Co. want to do for you is make it an even shittier deal (tax the rich, read: increase taxes on anyone and everyone still paying taxes), and remove the choice between smooth and chunky.
