I just love the queen, but I don't know if there's been a genuine political reconciliation. Isn't Sinn Fein still committed to armed struggle?

There are still two "rogue" offshoots of the original "Provisional" IRA: The "Continuity" IRA and the "Real" IRA who are actively pursuing a military campaign. These organizations are poorly organized and not very effective. They occasionally plant bombs in Northern Ireland, but in most cases British intelligence root them out before they are set off. These organizations are involved in criminal activities like drug selling and bank robberies
Sinn Fein was the political arm of the former "Provisional" IRA, but has pretty much distanced itself from any violence.
Led by another former "Provisional" IRA (but never admitted) commander, Gerry Adams Sinn Fein has picked up lots of support from certain segments of the Irish Republic and it holds several seats in the Dáil or Irish Parliament. Sinn Fein is basically a mirror image of the Socialist party with a little "anti-Brit" sentiment thrown in.
Martin McGuinness, a member of Sinn Fein is the currently the deputy First Minister of Northern Ireland and basically represents the "Republicans" (Northern Ireland Catholics) in Ulster or Northern Ireland.
The things they make her do ! !
This handshake disgusted me. I suggested some questions that the Queen could ask Martin McGuinness should the conversation flag - 20 Questions.
