Before everybody gets all mamsy-pamsy about this dude.....Ask yourself why was he walking down the middle of the street?
Yeah, the accident was terrible, he flew like a rag doll, I'm sure the Waddell's triad (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Waddell's_triad) is going to suck for this fellow.
Yep a sucky situation all around; but was avoidable.
