H/T Bob C who writes 'I was going through “important” papers and the letter attached above was in a folder from my grandfather. In the time between when this was issued and today we have gone from promoting our patriotism and exceptional-ism to bowing to heads of states and the denigration of all that made us exceptional. I am sure the American warriors who received these letters for their sacrifices in the first 2 world wars would be disgusted with where we are headed here in the once undisputed land of the free and home of the brave….'
