Just last week, the joint “defense exercise” referred to below had been hyped as the biggest of its kind ever held between the U.S. and Israel. But now the plug has been pulled and speculation is rife this morning about who made the decision and why. Here’s my favorite: Netanyahu put the kibosh on the drill because he could not be certain Obama wouldn’t use it to gather intelligence on the Jewish state’s plan to strike Iran.
