Christmas thoughts...................from Brian

When I grew up and in your case when you grew up, Americans still looked out for each other,, few if any wanted to take food stamps,, so family and friends came thru as they always had,, now it is different and fewer people have that back ground,, so fewer people help and the burden has fallen on our GOV,, All the gov does is take out monies from us and give it to people WE never would,, leaving us less to help the people we should.

These thoughts always happen at Christmas, the fact that those i know, the local people here are in dire straights but what little i had that might have helped with a meal, or maybe a gas payment to keep their heat on is now in some crack whores pocket feeding her addiction as she pumps out more money making babies.

So,,this is Christmas...what have we become? I still help, I volunteer at a local AMVETS Post. I cook, I help set up events, I am on the Board, I go to the meetings, I help with food runs, I help with the local retirement homes. The list is long, I do not get a dime out of it, Hell I usually give what change I have to the Post to help cover costs. The IDEA of Americans helping Americans is not dead, but it has holed up in small tiny spots that generally are affiliated with the Military or prior military.

Christmas is where I spend time with my Family and my friends.(.inside that phrase is included blood family and Military family)...Have a great Christmas and if you get an extra dime donate to a military charity. If not hell stop by an AMVETS go in and have a drink with a crusty old Sergeant and listen to his stories. You might end up listening to me.

Merry Christmas all
