Poor Elliott Abrams, he must the loneliest guy at the CFR. If anyone over there can be dubbed a “friend of Israel” it’s him. But that alone doesn’t qualify Abrams to be the only guy sitting by himself in the company cafeteria. He earns that distinction by exposing the gaping gaps between the “peace process” fantasy and the hard reality on the ground. In this case, he shows us that even the most moderate “Palestinian” begins to sound like Arafat when our backs are turned. Still, the CFR is in the business of “diplomacy” and Abrams knows which side his bread is buttered on. So he never connects the dots - leaving the rest of us to draw the obvious conclusion. The Arabs don’t want peace with Israel. Never have. Like the rest of the Muslim world they want Israel to go away. And talking to them is an utter waste of time.
