No Due Process in Awlaki Killing?

Due process?

The guy was a bleedin' terrorist. See: "Awlaki's Operational Role in al Qaeda."

And Kenneth Anderson's quoted:

My view of this targeted killing is straightforwardly, congratulations, Mr. President. What has been visible publicly leaves little or no doubt in my mind that Al-Aulaqi was deeply involved in AQAP in operations, and indeed at the highest levels.

Going to Congress to remove his citizenship would have been no hardship for the executive branch, tring him in absentia to get a death sentence would have been no hardship for the executive branch. The targeted killing of an American by unilateral decision of the executive branch set a precedent that we should all take extremely seriously and ask who next and how low will this or a future President set the bar for eliminating us.
