Los Angeles Restaurant Protests Ban on Foie Gras

I love this story, although sadly it's not going to prevent the ban from taking effect:

“I want people to have the freedom to eat what they want,” said Ludo Lefebvre, one of the chefs behind the stove here on Friday. “Animal rights people would turn everyone into a vegan if they could. I don’t want animal rights people to tell me what to eat. Today it’s foie gras. Tomorrow it’s going to be chicken, or beef.”

I think M. Lefebvre has stumbled across the basic tenet of the left. Whether it is animal rights or gun control, if you give an inch they will want a mile.

And animals don't have rights, only humans do.

Remember it's not about protecting animals or reducing crime, it is about CONTROL.

We have laws against the consumption of certain animals such as Vietnamese eating horse meat or koreans eating dogs because it insults our sensibilities and likewise we should also ban a food that can only exist by the torture of animals as an insult to our sensibilities. Geese are force feed to enlarge their livers just for this french "delicacy", if we allow this do we also allow dog farms for koreans in our country?
Draw a line to defend our culture or just watch our nation descend into a culture that will permit immigrants to bring any perversion practiced in their nations to ours.
