(Sept. 1, 2011) The U.S. Navy flight demonstration team, the Blue Angels, fly F/A-18 Hornets with a 50-50 mix of biofuel and JP-5 aviation fuel. The Blue Angels will perform at the Naval Air Station Patuxent River Air Expo Sept. 3 and 4. While the Navy has experimented with biofuels in some of their other aircraft, this is the first time all six Blue Angels have flown burning the biofuel mix.
