I actually had an owl in a cardboard box many years ago.My Doberman found him on the lawn looking confused. Probably he'd eaten a poisoned mouse.So I called Owl Rescue, put the owl in a large cardboard box labelled "WOL" in magic marker, and they took him away in a Jeep.
