I'm old enough to remember JimmyCarter and the "misery index" coinded in his tenure (1979-81).
The "misery index" was the % unemployed + the % CPI (inflation) = misery index.
Drudge recently took us down memory lane by reporting that today's "misery index" was the highest since 1983, when we were recovering from Carter.
The numbers reported by Drudge were 9.1% unemployment + 3.6% CPI = 12.7% misery index.
NOT reported or commented on by the Ministry of Truth (our MSM propaganda complex) was how the Government has cooked-the-books/jiggered the statistics over the past 28 years.
John Williams of Shadowstats calculates the statistics the way they 'used' to be done....before the Government figured out that by rigging the numbers they could conceal what a truly crappy job they were doing. The great unwashed might get upset, after all, so a lot of lipstick was smeared on the offishul pig!
- John's numbers look like this. They are closer to reality than is comfortable for our political uber-class, so you aren't allowed to know them.
22.3% unemployment + 11.2% CPI = 33.5% misery index, which handily beats the best (worst) Jimmy could do in June 1980 at 22.0%
If you had a 'gut feeling' that the "recovery" wasn't, here is why.
Nice job Barry!!! You are a bigger LOSER than Jimmy ever was!!!
- As for the Bush "Miss me yet?" sentiment floating about....well, fuggedaboudit!!!! Barry is so BAD he makes even me 'miss' that disaster called Jimmy Carter!
