What the hell are those arches made of?

It isn't the same one. The first has square pillars, the second rounded ones.
Two different cities. Very far apart too. One is in the northeast and the other is in the southwest.

More to the point is that Arch #2 is not in Nagasaki. It is the 'torii' leading to the Kozuchi shine in Otsuchi, Iwate Prefecture.

Cheers
The point isn't that it's the same arch in each picture. The point is, I think, that these arches have survived either a nuke going off, or a tsunami. When everything else in the picture did not.
I don't think thats his point. I think he is commenting on the fact that style of arch seems to withstand earthquakes, tsunami, and being nuked.
I want to build my next house with that architecture, hehe.
I think he's asking "what the hell are these arches made of?" because they seem to be destruction proof.
That they're two separate arches is known. How the hell they both made it through what they did when nearly nothing else did, that's the question.
Has Japan discovered Undestructium?
The torii is a stylized bird perch that signifies the transition from profane to sacred at Shinto shrines. They are often made of reinforced concrete.
i don't know what they are made of but they should build more of their houses/buidlings out of the same shit.
it's just like the airplane "black box" question. If black boxes almost always survive even the most horrific crash, whey the hell don't they build the rest of the plane out of the same shit? that would effectively eliminate the need for black boxes, right? maybe the black box manufacturers are behind this conspiracy. lol.
