Video: 'Terrorists' Attack Jefferson Memorial with Deadly Dance Moves

Editors Note: The Police response does seem a bit excessive, but there again I don't know what the rules are for public behavior in the Memorial. Anyone wishing to explain this please leave a comment.

You will note that the big bully wears a cycle helmet and shorts. They are always the one to watch out for

Not sure if these incidents are the same, but:

Summary - Dancer Oberwetter sued Officer Kenneth Hilliard for infringment of First Amendment rights, but court found she had no right to dance inside the Memorial based on Park Service regulations.

In my humble opinion this is a Memorial and a possible terrorist target. So the kids will get charged with Disturbing the Peace and get a fine or Drunk and Disorderly. It was a good thing that it was being videoed or the Cops would of really gone to town on the obnoxious snots.

The assumption that people can do whatever the fuck they like is common amongst the younger generation who assume that saying "this is a America" is a get out of jail free card.

It aint, you break the rules you pay the price. If a cop gives you an instruction FOLLOW IT. You are not imune to the law numb nuts.

You behave like that at a memorial to my relatives you could count yourself lucky if the cops got to you first.

What we conveniently DON'T see on video are the events leading up to the arrests and the "excessive force." LEOs are authorized to use the reasonable force necessary to affect arrest, protect life, property, etc. The tragedy is that while these unemployed, most likely rich, still living in mommy's house, piss ants are getting their kicks by being "civilly disobedient," people who have traveled to see a great memorial were turned away. If I had brought my child and witnessed that shit, the last worry those punks would have had would be the park police. I would have gladly taken at least one around back of the building and "expressed" my disappointment at their immature behavior. These memorials are solemn venues. They don't allow singing, dancing, cattle rustling, or hell-raising. It fucks up the experience for everyone else. Jackasses like these kids don't get that.

Any type of activity that can be construed as a performance or demonstration in the National Mall area is tightly controlled and scheduled. The major monuments, like the Lincoln & Jefferson, are subject to additional restrictions.

The rules are in place both to protect the monuments and to fairly allocate time to the hundreds of groups that are vying for the limited time available, and to allow visitors to peacefully visit areas intended for contemplation.

Memorial aside, why do I get the feeling that simply dancing on the sidewalk would somehow get you arrested in the Land of the (once) Free these days?

"I hold it that a little rebellion now and then is a good thing, and as necessary in the political world as storms in the physical."
-Thomas Jefferson to James Madison January 30, 1787

The leader of this peaceful act of civil disobedience is a USMC veteran. His actions were inspired by a ridiculous court ruling against someone who was arrested for the same thing at midnight almost 3 years ago. Jefferson would not at all object to this event - and anyone who is well read on him and his writings would readily agree. The U.S. Govt. is fast and far along the path to a Police State, and any sycophants who swallow whatever they are told through the establishment media are blind sheep. If you want to go mano a mano with Adam Kokesh, show up there on 6/4/11 at noon. He'll be there again.

Sorry, but these people (including Code Pinko Medea Benjamin) are simply doing what they do, "protest" and hope to get some "police brutality" on video.

I don't give a crap if the leader of this "peaceful act of civil disobedience" is the Pope himself. He doesn't get some sort of veteran's "get out of jail free card" for violating, knowingly, a court order. He can disagree with it, and challenge it, but he will reap what he sows when he breaks the law, which includes being arrested.

And while Jefferson was a proponent of free speech, liberty, etc., he wasn't an anarchist, despite the accusations of his political enemies of the time.
