Bell Helicopters bypassed the usual military procurement procedure and adapted a 407 for "law enforcement and paramilitary" use. With a 3,000-round-per-minute machine gun, a rocket launcher and FLIR, it's a potent adaptation of a proven airframe that's already attracting attention.

Law Enforcement Use?!!!!!
A low cost platform to use mini-guns on the civilians, when they do not have access to military grade defense hardware.
It appears I have not been paranoid enough!
Another fine product of Bell Helicopter (Canada).
Cheers
Market pressure from low end modified commercial products like this will drive down the cost of the fully militarized products. That will further benefit the taxpayers. Hopefully this model of doing business will expand to ship construction and other high cost procurement areas.
Competition works, someone should write a book about that. Oh wait, you mean they already did?
Theo, the paranoid anonymous commentators are so divisive that even when they are right, these could be used by bad guys to suppress dissent, the anonymous method and tone of their input just cramps the conversation.
