If this is true then why did the Army have to start up The Army Air Corp Part II over ferocious AF opposition? (As it needed low, slow and dedicated aircraft for supporting the ground troops like the Marines have.) Also why is it the AF wants to kill off the Warthog?
"why did the Army have to start up The Army Air Corp "
because the fast movers can't do everything, they can't loiter, they don't provide resupply and medevac.
"why is it the AF wants to kill off the Warthog?"
because it's not a fast mover. The AF of the 1990s and beyond has fallen back on the idea that air to air is all that matters, sexy stealth jets blotting their opponents out of the sky. When done, send in a few B-2s and B-52s with cruise missiles and precision bombs to take out key buildings and the enemy will capitulate. Same attitude lived in Korea, which is why there the ground attack aircraft (not mentioned in this video) were older aircraft retired from the air to air role. That they were still effective was more luck than wisdom, and the army noticed that, and made up plans for their own air elements.
All of the above are great reasons why the USAF should be disbanded and the assets be divided up between the other Services. The Navy gets the Nuclear assets & heavy bombers.
The Navy and the Marines to divide up the Fighter Squadrons
The Army gets the Land based Nuclear Missiles Mission & Air Transport
The Army & Marines to take over Ground support assets Plus The Coast Guard to gets all the Golf Courses. Which they can then sell off and finally get some decent ships

IOW, the A-10 literally isn't "sexy" enough.
