The pix of the Nimrod scrapping remind me of another sad chapter in British Aviation, that of the BAC TSR.2. At least Nimrod was operational! If you're interested in the TSR.2, a magnificent aircraft, check out Daimen Burke's new book in the Crowood Aviation series (I have no affiliation with Damien or Crowood). His cover art is worth the price of the book alone, but the book is THE definitive history of TSR.2. Hands down.

Bottom left - I am inclined to feel bad for that Nimrod, but I hope it was cannibalized for a good cause.
