Add all the holidays Americans get, and they're up there as well. The chart is way wrong, the USA has more holiday weekends (thus friday and/or monday off work because the company is closed) than do most other countries.

They're not officially "paid" holidays, but US salaries over the rest of the year are so much higher than those elsewhere that it more than compensates (the average wage per day on the calendar, not just per day worked) is still higher than that for salaried employees almost anywhere else.

So an American may get on paper 10 days a year off, but add all the public holidays and stuff, and it's more like 40-50 days not counting weekends, whereas a European gets maybe 30 days total per year and gets both a lower salary and higher taxes as a reward.
